I registered for Twitter sometime ago and never got into it. A few friends recently asked to follow me and another friend worked hard to persuade me further tonight .. so I have rejoined! If you fancy following me, my username is Emma5036 .. I can’t promise it will be exciting, interesting or regular .. but I shall give it a go!

NKOTB
My Friend Celia called me last night to ask if I had ever been a fan of New Kids on the Block as she had 2 tickets for their concert at the O2 on Saturday, and did I want to go. To be honest, I was never a HUGE fan, but having been about 8-11 during they hey day in the UK, they remind me of the care free days of my childhood, so I said yes!
We started talking about their hits and I realised that they were mostly pre-CD and that I didn’t have any of their music, so I headed over to iTunes and downloaded their Greatest Hits album and their new one. I spent the next 30 mins giggling at how awful their tunes really were .. afterall, it was the 80’s!
So this got me thinking about all the bands and artists that I have seen live and I decided to start listing them so that I might be able to cross off a Bucket List item! I have quite a good list considering my first concert was in 1995 aged 16 ..! I am also having brain freeze and will have to update this once I get home and can check out my ticket collection (yes, I try to keep all my tickets!).

A Second Life
I have been away for a long time .. and my only excuse is that I have gotten myself a Second Life! I discovered this phenomenon last February, played for a while but got hooked again at the end of last year and have met some really lovely people, done some amazing things and even started a business .. and it’s kinda taken over! I will tell you more in future posts, but I have met some amazing people from all over the World .. including Jenna from Leeds, Al from Newcastle, Eddie from Wokingham, Iszy from Holland, Damaged, Que, Mike and Kye from the States and a whole lot of ther people too – all wonderful and true friends! If you haven’t given it a try .. DO!

Go Liv!
I’m not sure if I have already sung the praises of Facebook .. but I think it is a WONDERFUL thing! I have managed to get back into contact with so many people and it has been nice catching up on all of their news since last we spoke (which for a lot of people is over 10 years!). A few people have made it big, some have gotten married and had children and a few are on their way up!
One such friend is Olivia Safe. I used to sit next to her in choir and even when we were 12 I knew she was special. We always marvelled at her amazing voice, so when she left after GCSE’s to go to a special music college, we waved goodbye and wished her well. When I got back in contact with her, I found out that she has played Christine in Phantom, is a member of Passionata (a Classical Rock band) and has toured with a famous and popular German Tenor (Bjorn Casapietra) and so many other things!
http://www.deezer.com/track/584606 - Take a listen to my new favourite song!
Recently, she entered a contest to find “the next big Soprano” and voting closed today – I voted about 10 times for her and have my Sky+ all ready to record the results tomorrow – I have everything crossed and wish her well .. Go Liv!!
Olivia (second left) and the ther Passionata Girls!

Swapping
I have come accross the delights of selling and swapping on the internet! Of course I have used ebay before, but Amazon and a few of the swap sites (readitswapit, Swap Shop) are my new faves! I have added about 200 things to Amazon and a load to the other 2 sites and things are going so quickly that I can hardly keep up with demand! I had to buy 100 envelopes from ebay tonight to make sure i have enough in stock!
Of course Royal Mail makes it really easy to sort the postage too – all online and it prints the postage on the packing label!
Seriously – if you don’t already use the internet to get rid of your stuff – try it .. better still send it my way and I’ll do it for you – every penny I am making from these internet sales is going into the coffers for my charity!

Medals and More …
Well .. we’ve had a good start haven’t we?! First Nicole Cooke won a Gold medal on Sunday in the women’s road race and then Rebecca Adlington and Jo Jackson doubled up in the 400m Freestyle – fantastic! I am loving it all so far – the BBC’s coverage is excellent – I’ve seen so many different sports so far and just love it all! To top it all off, Kevin Pietersen and the lads won by six wickets in the final test against South Africa! YAY!
In other things, going along with my counselling, I have decided to have a complete life makeover – and so far so good! One of the comments the counsellor made was that both times I had seen her, I was wearing all black. I realised that on average, I wear mostly black 9 days out of 10. I made the decision that from today onwards, I will wear more colour to work – all the tops I have in the wardrobe that i haven’t worn for ages will again see the light! I had my hair cut and coloured too on Saturday; back to the way it used to be before I had no money. I got a lot of lovely comments from my colleagues, which was very boosting!
I am also trying to be more organised – it’s not that I am atrocious, more that I am organised in a dis-organised way … if that makes any sense?! I have done some research on the net and joined some mailing lists, as well as buying a few books too .. we’ll see how things go and I will update you when anything fun or interesting happens! One email I received today had some interesting points..
- Make your bed every morning. This is a great psychological start to your day. You’ve put a full-stop on your night’s sleep and, in the back of your mind, you’ll know there’s an orderly place for you to return to.
- Leave your household and car keys in the same place. This way you avoid the inevitable panic stricken search every morning, when you’re already running late.
- Wash up after each dinner. You always mean to, but sometimes you’re just too tired. However sleepy you feel, you’ll rest easier and wake up happier knowing that you don’t have to clean up last night’s mess before facing the new day.
- Hang your clothes in the wardrobe before you go to bed. Your clothes will look less dishevelled, and you’ll be able to find what you want to wear more easily.
- Open your post the minute it arrives (including the bills!) and set aside 10 to 15 minutes to deal with it. Chuck out any junk mail immediately.
I do most of these anyway, but I guess I will give the others a go too – see if it makes me feel more ‘together’!

The Olympics
Yay – I love The Olympics and am going to enjoy the next 18 days watching as much sport as possible! I love watching all of the ‘not-so-popular’ sports, especially when we do well; it really annoys me when the media gloss over good performances in things like Badminton and Table Tennis just because they don’t have mass appeal. I love it all and am really proud to be British during times like these!
GO TEAM GB!

I found this site a while ago and have been watching .. and now is the time to start taking part!
1. When your relationships end, are you the instigator of the breakup or the recipient?
I have only really had 1 ‘proper’ relationship and I was the recipient in a BIG way – he told me he loved me, and I never saw him again .. loverly!
2. Do you save things from your ex, or get rid of them? If you save them, how? If you trash them, how?
I save things like text messages for a while (about a month or so) and will slowly get rid of physical things as and when I come accross them ..!
3. Describe your favorite ex?
Not the guy above .. so one of the other guys in my life that wasn’t a full on relationship - Dodgy (great name) is the guy I lost my virginity to and we have stayed really good friends ever since. Haven’t seen him for about 2 years, but when we meet it’s like we were never apart! on the ‘wweird’ side, he’s now gay!
4. Do you consider a friend’s ex off limits?
Depends on the friend / situation / break-up … I would say a no but would take caution – the friend would ALWAYS come first.
5. Have you ever had sex with an ex? Why?
Nope .. mainly because we live quite far apart and havent seen him since he walked away from me the day before New Years Eve 3 years ago … !!
6. If you had a choice between spending the rest of your life with your worst ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend, or your HS Nemisis, who would you choose?
GOOD QUESTION and one I am struggling to answer … I would have to pick the Ex .. he saw something he liked / loved in me and didnt care what i looked like .. my nemisis however made me feel like crap consantly.
7. Would you ever create a YouTube video or a website celebrating your exes’ flaws?
Nope .. although I dislike him intently and hpe he feels the same pain I did one day, I’m just not the kind of person to humiliate someone else in public.
